I can VIVIDLY remember sitting in the computer lab at Texas A&M University twenty years ago, crying with my fingers on a keyboard. I had a final paper due. Writing was so painfully hard for me that I couldn't stand it. My degree is in Industrial Distribution, which is an engineering business degree, heavy on math, light on that writing stuff. Give me a math problem any day and I'm a happy girl. Math problems have definitive answers, black and white, right or wrong. I adore creativity but ... continue reading...

Things to Do With Old Lampshades
Old lampshades are a dime a dozen at thrift stores and garages sales. One of my favorite (and easiest) projects was from a dollar shade I bought on a whim at a garage sale just because I liked the bones of it. There are fun things to make your lampshade completely new or a few great ways to update out of style lampshades you already have. I even have a few inspirations for alternates to lampshades! What really got me thinking about lampshades recently was my last trip to Round Top...I saw ... continue reading...
Built In Plate Rack Kitchen Idea
It's funny how you can look at something for years and never see the obvious. When we moved into our home 4 1/2 years ago I was bewildered by what to do with these cubbies surrounding a window in our kitchen area. It seemed obvious to display plates or knick knacks, but whatever I put in this spot looked unfinished and disheveled. We remodeled the entire kitchen (you should see the before pics!!!), except for this wall...it was the only spot that just needed a coat of paint! But for some reason, ... continue reading...
Tips for Successful Container Gardening
We never use our front door. No one does unless they are a new guest to the house...and then they only use it once. EVERYONE uses the side door to our kitchen. It was so dull and boring so I wanted to liven it up with some fresh potted plant décor. As I planted I realized I have developed some tips for successful container gardening over the years and I am sharing them with you today! Every magazine that hits the mailbox showcasing potted plants makes me want to get my gardening ... continue reading...
New Crate To Old Looking Wall Storage
You guys know I love all things old. But sometimes you have to make due and buy something new and make it look old. Like these new crates I bought and transformed them into old looking wall storage. Cheap to Chic Bar Stool Makeover With My NEW Spray Tent
I'm a messy painter. It's a fact. It doesn't mean I'm a bad painter, I just get it everywhere. My artist friend says that's a sign of creative people. I'm sticking with her theory :) I got a new toy that has helped me wrangle in splatters and spills, over-spray and oops moments and it has been a blast to play with. Thanks to my friends at Wagner for sponsoring this post and sending me the greatest product for messy folks like me...a new paint spray tent!
