These vintage-inspired Christmas gift tags are the KEY to making your loved ones feel extra special this holiday season. Something about going the extra mile, giving it some extra thought, and adding a handmade touch says more than an expensive gift ever could! Let me show you how- it’s SO easy and it won’t cost much extra AT ALL!
what you need
- cardboard
- christmas napkins
- stamp set (or you can write on them)
- mod podge
- chip brush
- DecoArt Americana paint in Cocoa or similar
- Guillotine Paper Cutter
- hole punch
how to make vintage-inspired christmas gift tags
- Open up your Christmas napkins and check what the ply count is. You want to peel it apart, making sure you’re down to only the top ply.
- Apply mod podge onto your piece of cardboard and press napkin down. Cut or rip off any excess.
- Using your guillotine cutter, measure and cut gift tag strips. You can make these as big as you’d like- mine are about an inch or so wide. You CAN use scissors, but you won’t get the same clean lines.
- After cutting your strips, it’s time to customize. I added the date using my date stamp and then the name of the receiver using my customizable stamp set (it’s seriously my favorite thing ever)!
- Lastly, use your hole punch to create a hole at the top and you can use jute, string, or ribbon to attach it to your gift!!
These are so stinking easy to make and they are sure to make your opener feel EXTRA special!!! Plus, they can use as ornaments in the future if they’d like- a fun way to remember gifts and memories from years passed!
