Take miscellaneous vintage hardware and turn it into art!
I am always one for a quick and easy DIY project, especially when it is something vintage and cute I can decorate with! While I was shopping the fields at Round Top Antiques Week this fall I found a booth full of rusty vintage hardware. I just had to grab a few pieces. I had no idea what I was going to do with them, but the rusty crusty patina just jumped up and said, “TAKE ME HOME!” So I did. 🙂
If you have five minutes to spare you can throw this vintage artwork together, maybe go through your garage or junk drawers and find some miscellaneous hardware you can group together. Then get an old piece of wood, maybe an old fence board and some good adhesive.
Play around with your hardware and lay it out, multiple varieties of the same thing are fun, like these door knob plates. I used glue to secure the plates to the wood, allowed it to dry overnight and then went to decorating. You could hang these vintage artwork pieces on a gallery wall, make a big one for a focal point or simple rest them in a bookshelf. Have fun, it never has to be hard to decorate! Stick around for other easy DIY ideas. I always have tons of giveaways, Facebook live tutorials and freebies for my e-mail friends, just let me know where to send you the info!
