Purge to Project: Closet Castoffs to DIY Cuff Bracelet

This post may contain affiliate links.

Purge your closet castoffs and make them into a DIY cuff braceletPurge to project ideas, spring cleaning never looked so good. Get fun DIY home decor ideas from your closet! Easy updates and makeovers from the things you were just going to throw out! Wall art, updated picture frames, jewelry and pet supplies,

I am still in purge mode here and the closet has been a great source for new projects(you might have seen this picture already, but this is a different project from the pile!). It’s not that I hate the things in my closet, most of them just need a refresh of sorts. My old shoes have been an amazing material source for a new cuff bracelet!Purge to project ideas, old shoes make a cute cuff bracelet. Easy DIY cuff bracelet tutorial with snaps.

I showed you one project that came from my old shoes and now I am going to show you another one! I love a good cuff bracelet and your closet is just the place to get all you need to up your bracelet stash. A while back I demoed how to make a cuff bracelet (use this tutorial for the cuff you will need to make) out of old belts. My belts were all either out of style or didn’t fit any more, ok so mainly size was the issue. 🙁 Any cute patterned or plain belts you (or your husband!) have are perfect to upcycle into a women’s cuff bracelet. I’ve also been making some wide cuffs bracelets out of faux leather scraps. There are so many amazing colors and textures available, you can almost get away with using a swatch of material for this project. Either way the snap closure is a great route to take for a sturdy clasp.Purge to project ideas, old shoes make a cute cuff bracelet. Easy DIY cuff bracelet tutorial with snaps.

Once you make the cuff simply cut a flower or accent off an old shoe, bag or clothing article and use a heavy duty glue (NOTE: The glue in the picture didn’t hold well, try a Gorilla Glue or Dap Rapid Fuse product instead!) to attach it to your new cuff bracelet. I have a full tutorial you can watch here: Old jewelry is especially nice for this idea. I promise you already have outfits to match because all the ingredients came from your closet! Let me know what goodies you have to attach to a cuff bracelet, I am always on the look for inspiration.  Wait till I show you what I did with the scrap shoe material…Purge to project ideas, old shoes make a cute cuff bracelet. Such a cute idea!!! Do you suggest a fabric glue? Iv tried 2 different kinds now and one is just garbage. Also what do you think would be the best glue for sticking fabric flowers to a painted canvas? Fabric glue or hot glue? February’s verse struck a cord in me this morning.Thank you for posting!

I love fabritac for most fabric type things, but it did NOT hold well for this project. I used a Gorilla Glue super glue and it worked great, I think that would work for your fabric/canvas project too. Glues are hard, I have a few go to ones I use, but sometimes you never know what will work for what application. I am also a fan of Dap Rapid Fuse Adhesive. Hope that helps!
