Dollar Store Table Decor for Summer with Flamingos

Friend, you know I LOVE the dollar store! Nothing better than a good cheap find! I rounded up the perfect items on my last visit for precious summer table decor complete with summer flamingos for a fun touch. I promise you can find great items for your home at the dollar store too, you just have to keep your eyes peeled and your out of the box thinking cap on! Here we go…I started with a straw sunbathing mat. I actually bought these last year too for my kids to use by the pool and they loved them. This year I got a new one and used it as a tablecloth! Not bad for 99 cents right!? Oh yea – and I know you will ask, which dollar store. I got almost everything you see here at the 99 Cent Only Store. They are the best!!!

I couldn’t pass up the small yard flamingos. They just squawked summer time fun as I passed by. Three little birdies rode home with me and landed flat in the middle of our dining room table. I adore them. (BTW – not the first time I had a flamingo on my table, see here) Another BTW – I totally saw the same flamingos for tons of money at a few other stores since I bought mine. You know I did a happy dance in those aisles. ????????????????????????

I perched our plumed friends inside Terracotta pots I scooped up at the 99 cent store. They got a quick swipe of black paint to tone them down a bit. The birds sit securely in a piece of floral foam I placed at the bottom of each pot. The foam got covered with Easter straw that was on sale…for 50 cents ????????????. I mean really, can you beat that? The after holiday sales at the dollar store are ridiculous!

Next I used balloons from the party section to fill in around the flamingos, I really wanted a summer party feel to the table.

I got little drink umbrellas at the grocery store and scattered them through the table for tiny pops of festive color.

Adding a cute plate charger always leaves the table feeling decorated and we enjoy having a fun space to plop down together at the end of a busy day.
