Bullets to Beautiful

I know I have been going on and on about my Round Top/Warrenton trip…but y’all – it is that good. The most super duper yummy fun part of junkin is that you never know what you are going to find. I couldn’t have set out to look for this little prize if I wanted to. Didn’t even know it existed. Bullets. Shell casings really. BIG ones. I stumbled on them in a booth and was immediately smitten. The man was asking $4 a piece which was more than I wanted to spend. When I told him I was hoping for $1 each he said, ” if you buy ten”. That’s my kind of deal. So, I grabbed my friends and I don’t even know how many we bought between the eight of us, but it was a bunch.bullet bud vase

They just scream bud vase to me. Can’t you hear them begging for a flower? Bud vases are the easiest way to keep a little something fresh and alive in your house. They warm up a window, bedside table or sink. I like to leave them out for guests and just around the house for my family to enjoy. Using something unusual for a vase is  recycling at it’s best. Bud vases are usually inexpensive and keeping them filled with something fun is inexpensive too. Just step outside with some scissors. I told you guys about our wildflower excursion a few weeks ago. We picked the most awesome weeds. Yep, I said weeds. They are thorny nuisances and I LOVE them. You can let me know your thoughts once you check out the pictures below.bullet bud vase

My most favorite part of this bullet discovery is the promise that it holds. In Ecclesiastes 3 Solomon points out there is a season for everything under heaven. A time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.  Ecc 3:8  These shell casings are remnants of war, death and destruction but in time they hold beauty, life and joy.  What a great visual of the promise God has for us. Whatever season you are in, especially a rough one, there will come another season to follow. He has made everything beautiful in its time. Ecc 3:11  bullet bud vase

What would you have done with these bullets? Check out some other bullet to beautiful transformations I pinned on Pinterest.

Thank you. I copied the part you said about Ecc. 3 to send to my little friend that is 27 and just found out she has breast cancer.
