I am carrying on with my romantic picnic Valentine’s theme here and it is still an awesome black and white theme as well! I love this little Valentine’s Day craft that MADE this mantel! You can see how to make these hearts more here.
The string of hearts made from dollar store supplies reminds me of a charm bracelet…do you see it!? I think it would be so cute to a have a bracelet full of all these precious dangling hearts. But until then…just the mantel!
I brought my huge painted quilt in off the back porch and used as a backdrop. Doesn’t everyone want to have a picnic on a vintage quilt? This one comes without the worry of grass stains or rips! You can see how I made it here.
Shopping nature always makes me smile and while I adore a beautiful bouquet of flowers, these dried branches with dollar store roses glued on won’t wilt anytime soon and are waaaayyyyy friendlier on the budget!
I’ve had such a good time decorating for this made up holiday, Valentine’s Day. It’s the little things that bring me joy and I hope they are a big hug to my family and friends that enter into our home. Are you decorating for Valentine’s Day or do you pass? You can see the Valentine’s tablescape that matches here in case you missed it! Thanks for sharing friend.
You can also find the tutorial for the wooden banner filled with XO XO XO XO here! OR – you can grab the stencil here! Happy DIYing sweet friend.

I really, really like this mantle idea!
Do you have any ideas for those of us who don’t have a mantle?
Kim at Salvaged Living says
thank you and yes!!! decorate across a dresser, buffet or sofa table, create a space on your wall to change out seasonally or sway garland across a large picture or doorway. You can still do the na,tel stuff, just in a different location!
