I’m not generally a huge fan of your typical “word decor.” You know the whole live, laugh, love vibes I’m talking about. And don’t get me wrong, if that’s your style, that is GREAT– everything has a place for someone. BUT, I do think words, especially around Holidays, are an exception to my “rule,” and even better if they can be displayed in a unique way!! This word decor for Easter that I’m about to show you is simply precious, and something I may spin off for future Holidays– you’ll agree once you see!!
supplies for word decor for easter
- wire
- yarn
- pom pom for crafting (optional)
- hot glue (for pom pom)
…yes, that’s seriously it!
let’s make it
- Bend your wire into the desired word. I went with “hop” because it was sweet and simple for Easter, but you can do whatever you’d like. I do personally think the shorter the better, because long words will become complicated and won’t support the weight of themselves as well. As you’re bending and shaping the wire, you can twist the wire around itself to secure certain sections, like I did on the “p” part of mine!
- Slide your yarn onto your wire. It should slide right over the wire, easy peasy. You can bunch some up in one spot and then spread it out later, that’s what I did!
- Hot glue your pom pom onto your wire word!
And once again, this might shock you, but that’s IT! You can add wire so you can stick this in a potted plant or wrap it around something, or you can simply leave as is and prop it up against a vignette or bookcase! The possibilities with something like this are ENDLESS and again, can be changed from season to season!! I see a wire “jolly” in my future for Christmas, how about you!?
