How to store baseball hats in a home with three hat-loving boys is a problem. Can you relate to the hats strewn all over the place– on the counter, the floor, the couch, you name it? And as you may know, I recently got married and moved in with my husband, so even more hat-loving boys around these days… and he DID have a sort of hat system to be fair. He stored his hats above the mantel, and if you know me, you know that’s one of my go-to spots for decorating!! But I couldn’t just take his hat storage away… PLUS when things have a home, the house feels less cluttered. We needed something that worked for everyone. I need the mantel back and these hats needed a home– not just in the bedrooms, but in a spot that all of my boys could just grab them on the way out, or hang them up on the way in. Something easy, that I am okay with looking at, and they are okay with ACTUALLY using. That’s where this vintage style how to store baseball hats comes in.
I am a firm believer that the home should work for EVERYONE and not just be beautiful but functional too, and this is exactly that. It’s really quite simple, too. Just think peg boards… it’s honestly really similar to the peg board rail I had in my previous home! It was so easy to DIY in just a day and it has made all the difference (and these screw in pegs will save you some time and headache)!!
With it right in the laundry room (which is where we leave and enter pretty much all the time), it’s so convenient! And as a bonus, it’s also sort of hidden from the rest of the home if you’re just looking into the kitchen from the living room or something… such a win!
Don’t forget small spaces can be useful and provide excellent storage. Think upwards too! NEVER underestimate how much use can get out of a space until you try and use your imagination!
So you may not have the exact same laundry room situation as I do, but I hope this inspires you to take hold of the issues in your home and address them– head on!! If it’s how to store baseball hats, how to store umbrellas, or even your kids leaving shoes all over the place!! There IS a solution out there, you just have to get creative… and only YOU know what works best for your home. Have the confidence to get in there and change what needs changin’ girlfriend! This is homemaking at it’s finest!!
