We collect glass ornaments for our Christmas tree and getting a new one from each vacation adventure or event we have is a family tradition. Christmas ornaments are great to buy as souvenirs, but if you can’t find them on vacation, make your own!
I got smart last year and bought extra clear glass ornaments for occasions like this. (I use them for our time capsule Christmas Ornaments too) Each year when will pull this pretty out we will remember the amazing time we had in Mexico together…naming the hotel iguanas, snorkeling, riding the BMX bikes, eating fun meals and exploring new places. Simply fill your glass (or plastic) Christmas ornament with tiny seashells, sand or whatever little treasures you bring back (think theater tickets, small pictures, pressed pennies). Write the date and place on the outside with a Sharpie, Cricut letters you cute or even scrapbook stickers. Top it off with a bow that matches your Christmas decor and you have a fresh memory to pull out of the decorating box each year.
One of the best things about making these memory Christmas ornaments is that the kids or grand kids can help. I love the idea of making memories last longer with these special keepsakes. I hope my kids will cherish these bottled up memories for years and years, because I know I will! Tell me…what are you going to put in yours?
Be sure to grab a few extra plain ornaments this year and leave them in your craft closet…DON’T pack them up with Christmas! That way you can make them fresh off your summer vacation and not forget. You don’t want to be wandering around the attic in the summer heat searching for that box with the extra ornaments! Ask me how I know about this scenario. ????♀️????♀️????♀️ Merry Christmas and merry memories!

This is neat. We go to Outer Banks, NC every year, and I am always combing the beach for shells and sea glass. This would be great for the tiny treasures I find!
