This glam circus table was inspired by The Greatest Showman movie
Have y’all seen The Greatest Showman yet? My kids are obsessed with this movie! It’s been out for a while now and I actually created this table a few months ago for the kids and forgot to share it with you. I have to admit when I first saw the movie I didn’t really get what all the hype was about. But the more I watch it, the more I fell in love too. My son bought the soundtrack with his own money and it pretty much plays on repeat. If you haven’t seen it I recommend you give it a go.
There is no telling how close the movie is to actual events but it paints a beautiful picture. Rich colors and glorious costumes give more of a romantic touch to the circus than the traditional kid themed red and white striped scenario you see so often. I had fun drawing on the more glamorous touches The Greatest Showman highlighted.
Whatever inspires you, a table is a great place to bring it to life in your home, and it doesn’t have to cost a ton. Use things you have on hand like wrapping paper tablerunners.
The I always hit a homerun with details from the dollar store…like the velvet plate chargers, garden pots I used for peanut buckets, peanuts and faux flowers that can only be used for something fun like this tablescape! I used lots of pink inspired by Anne’s hair (the trapeze artist).
To add the “three ring” circus feel I painted embroidery hoops a deep navy.
The circus animal stands were plastic cups from my pantry painted with acrylic craft paint.
I love the pomp of individual cake stands that I found in the dollar bins at Target and topped with store bought cupcakes for a fun after school snack for the kids.
