You may have heard me mention our garden. It is not the most highly productive garden on Earth, but our blackberry shrubs went over the top crazy this year.
Like I couldn’t keep up crazy. Berry crazy.
My littles love to help… for about three minutes.
I think we filled about 12 or more gallon size Ziploc bags with berries. From two plants.
So what to do with all that yum? Make Jelly of course. We are new to the jelly trade although my husband makes a mean jalapeno jelly when our garden starts mass producing peppers.
We searched high and low for the best recipe, threw out a large batch that we over pectined (is that a word?) and ended up using the recipe on the box of pectin, plus a little extra sugar. There are some pictures of us cooking it up below. I wish I had more cooking tips to offer, but there is a reason I’m not a food blogger. We made some jelly with seeds and some without.
We had a fun time making all this homemade goodness and we wanted to share. My kids gave their teachers a jar of jelly as an end of school, welcome to summer gift.
Today I am sharing a free printable that grew out of this project. So here is a cute You’re the BERRY best print you can use to tag on a teacher, friend, neighbor, Father’s Day, whatever day gift. Jelly certainly does NOT have to be involved. It looks like this below (you get 4/page) and you can download it HERE. Is anyone else having Strawberry Shortcake and friends flashbacks?
Hope you enjoy it!

Let’s discuss how amazing this looks! We may have to add berries to our garden next year. We are new gardeners, but our tomatoes have done well! This rain kind of drowned everything! 🙂

Thanks Katy – The rain has been a bit much. Berries get big but are easy to grow! You only need one maybe two shrubs!
