That’s a Wrap

We have a fireplace in our bedroom.

Ooh lala.

Really it is ugh lala.

It is one of those spots in my house that has kind of collected all the leftover unloved items. We have never lit a fire in the fireplace, we might need to work on that. The bedroom is under decorating construction currently. That just means I am moving stuff around to make it a happy space instead of a sad last kid picked for the team kind of place.

I have a great pair of candlesticks. Symmetry is really awesome and I love it, but somehow I don’t have a lot of it going on in my home décor. I’m not sure what that says about me…Anyway the point is I don’t use the pair of candlesticks together. They are in completely different rooms. One candlestick resides in the living room and the other in our bedroom. It needed a little oomph in it’s life. Since it is part of a pair I didn’t want to paint it. In case I ever get into the whole symmetry thing.

So I attacked it with my latest love.

Chunky yarn.

I can’t knit and pearl to save my life. I am not even sure if that is the right terminology. This was easy, as most of my projects are, fun and makes a temporary transformation that you don’t have to be married to. I think of it as a cozy little winter sweater for my candle. All I did was wrap the candlestick in yarn. No tape, glue, nothin. Next I added some homemade pom poms.

Who doesn’t love a pom pom?

The back is a little dicey looking, but it sure makes for an easy change when swim season hits. Look around and see what you can transform…candles, picture frames, cups…
