Salvaged Living Blog and Mercantile is thriving because of an amazing community of women who set out to support and encourage one another daily! I am the sometimes fearless leader that provides the playground for your creativity to flourish and your faith to be encouraged. Please know you are a special and much needed part of this community – I LOVE to hear from you and so do the thousands of other ladies who meet up on the blog and social channels.
I started this little blog years ago because of a calling God laid on my heart. I had never read a blog, didn’t know anything about one and really didn’t know what I was getting myself into! I knew it was from the Lord because the whole concept was so foreign to me. The blog launched in December of 2015, on my 40th birthday. I had NO IDEA what I was doing! Friend if I can do this, you can do hard things too!
For the first few years this blog was my accountability partner, helping me to stay creative, get the ideas out of my head and I felt useful outside of the walls of my home for the first time in a long while. Have you ever struggled with that? Feeling useful? Wondering what you’re supposed to be doing to contribute to the world, the Kingdom?
A few years in and I learned that this was not only a call on my life, but a way for me to contribute to my family’s financial well being. With three kiddos heading towards driving and college faster than I’d like to admit, the requests for twenty dollars here and ten dollars there really pile up!!! Every time you visit my blog, make a purchase in the mercantile, share something on social media, Pin something on Pinterest or spread the word you are helping my family. For that I can never thank you enough. I’m so sincerely appreciative of your love and support.
It’s truly a dream that this blog has become my job and I get to do it alongside of wonderful friends like you. You make my day, you are now my accountability partner and I take my job of inspiring and uplifting you very seriously. We have a choice in this world. We can spread the gospel and share through the gifts God gave us or we can hide them under a basket. I will fully admit that not every day is easy and I get discouraged all the time, but I keep plugging in because I want to be poured out when I reach the pearly gates. And I want to encourage you to do the same.
As a small token please accept this free art print, You can download it and print it to hang in your home. It’s a great reminder to be a pitcher poured out for the Lord. I constantly remind myself that Jesus came to serve, not to be served and we are to look to him as our example. I hope this print inspires you! Blessings and I look forward to hearing from you! XO, Kim
