Nothing beats Mother Nature for decorating and this rustic fall centerpiece idea is straight from her arms! I love to gather things on walks and use them around the house for in season, budget friendly decor. Today I am sharing a few little spots in my house dressed for the beautiful fall weather we are having. Maybe you’ll get a few fun ideas for your home using stuff you already have!
You guys know I love to garage sale and this rustic centerpiece idea started off with a tool chest insert that I used as a decorative tray. I always say don’t look at things for what they are typically used for, but what potential they hold. This little “tray” has moved all over my house, from the coffee table to nightstands, I just love it. Not bad for a few bucks. It has way more character and charm that a store bought tray.
Next I filled it will miscellaneous bottles and rustic accents like pinecones.
Layer in some Pampas grass – it dries so beautifully! Did you see the mantel (click here)?
Rustic decorative spheres from grapevine and wooden ball garland are a must. Another item I snag every time I see them in thrift stores are brass candlesticks. I never pay more than $2-$3 a piece and you can never have too many. They look great in mass!
I used an old piece of scrap fabric for a table runner – never feel like you have to have something new or perfect. The more frayed and worn the better in my house. I’m feeling all the warm gold tones this year, they really evoke a soft and comforting feel.
Do you admire amber glass like I do? These glass pumpkins are new from my local thrift store and I grabbed them up at $2/each. They are so cute!
I’m curious what colors you are using in your decor this year? I’d love to hear from you, it’s always so fun to see what everyone else is doing!

Good to hear from you again, Kim. I pulled out the country/rustic/vintage/old stuff from totes and redid the kitchen with orange, brown, yellow and gold colors. I especially love the old English ironstone dishes in browns and rusts.

I bet it is beautful that ironstone has to be stunning!!!
