Okay, you’re here because you’re wondering if a peel and stick backsplash is for you, right? I’ve done the groundwork, got my hands dirty, and I’ve got some thoughts… but I’ll be honest up front and tell you- IT DEPENDS.
A little background on my situation: I moved into my husband’s home recently (when we got married), and his home’s a little dated. He’s a guy, he doesn’t care, and truth be told, nothing is actually wrong with the kitchen or backsplash he had. In fact, it may even be someone’s taste, and that’s TOTALLY fine. I just wasn’t a huge fan of the beige tiles back there and felt like there was too much BROWN everywhere. I wanted to brighten up the space, but on a budget. Ripping out a backsplash and installing a new one simply was not in the cards for me at this time; budget-wise, time-wise, and even taste-wise. I haven’t been in this house long enough to decide my decorating fate, LOL.
So, peel and stick backsplash it is. I kept seeing it everywhere, people are buzzing around it, and I figured it was time to try it for myself. After looking around, I landed on the Astra style from Quadrostyle. It was just the right amount of bright and fun I felt this kitchen needed!
Installation was fairly straightforward and easy, and looking from afar, I would say it definitely gives the look I was going for. BUT, I do not think this type of peel and stick backsplash was meant to go over pre-existing tiles. You can see the texture through the backsplash wallpaper if you look close enough, which can be a bit of an eyesore. And it was challenging to get it to stick in some places.
Did it give me a quick-fix to my backsplash problem- YES! Would I recommend this to you if you have pre-existing tile in your backsplash already- NO! I think this COULD be a great product for someone who has no backsplash in place currently and is looking to install directly against the wall. Even if you have slight texture, I wouldn’t think that would be a problem.
Unfortunately, the answer to peel and stick backsplash: yes or no, is not as straightforward as you may have hoped for. To wrap it up, I’ve made a short list down below of things for you to consider before purchasing!
Do you already have a backsplash?
Are you a perfectionist?
If you answer no to both of these questions, GO FOR IT! If you’re answer was yes to either one, I’m not saying you can’t do this project and still love it in the end. I would just be cautious when ordering and maybe consider snagging a sample first! In other words, set yourself up for success by having the right expectations!
Hopefully this helped you decide if a peel and stick backsplash is the right choice for you!! Best of luck on your next DIY endeavor!!

I hope so! It is a good option for sure, but like anything comes with faults!

You picked a pattern that had to match up perfectly. Did you loose many tiles because of this? I let it because it’s good for a man or woman❤️

hi! This particular pattern is in a roll, not a tile and yes, I lost a good bit to matching seams, so definitely count for extra if you try it!
