My Favorite Slip-Covered Couches

If you have a busy home full of pets, kids, and messes, or just like to change things up, a cozy slip-covered couch is the way to go.

As many of you might now, my dog Toulouse destroys EVERYTHING in sight, including some of my furniture! Most recently, my couch! But look at that sweet face…

She ruined my last couch when she was having an upset tummy spat; you don’t have to ask, it was disgusting. After the “incident” as we will call it, I knew that couch needed to go, but I also knew my next couch needed to be easy to clean. Dogs will be dogs, you know.

Plus, I have kids so an easy-to-clean couch is just all around a good idea for this family! I knew I needed to set my sights on a slip-covered couch, so when these types of “incidents” occur, I can simply unzip the cover and throw it in the wash. Or worst case scenario, I can just buy a new one! 

So, I ended up purchasing my couch from Ikea! I looked at maaaaany couches and honestly, there’s nothing specific about this one that I had to have, but I liked it enough, and if I’m being honest, I liked the price and the fast shipping! I went with a dark slip cover for now, it’s a sleek velvet and it sets the mood for a cozy winter vibe. I will order a light colored one soon to swap out for spring and summer.

In total honesty – she ate on this couch FOUR DAYS into owning it! It’s a good thing she’s cute and luckily I was able to fix the cushion cover pretty easily. THIS is exactly why I need something easy to change or replace in my life. I know you may be thinking, “do you watch your dog?”. The answer is YES, but she is quick and sneaky. Plus her puppy teeth still “itch”, and I feel confident we are getting close to the end of that, She will be an amazing dog soon.
