Kitchen Remodels You Won’t want to miss!!!
When I sit in our remodeled kitchen I can hardly remember what it used to look like when we bought this house. BUT, if I stretch my memory and especially if I glance at the pictures, I remember. I remember the sights, smells and all the yucky that came tumbling down as we took on not only a kitchen remodel but a whole house renovation! I thought it would be fun to show you some AMAZING and dramatic makeovers in case you think there is no hope for your kitchen. There is!!! Many of these kitchen makeovers were done DIY style, so hopefully, you will see tips to help you tackle whatever element of your kitchen you don’t love, even if it’s one tiny part. Here we go…
I am shamelessly starting with our unloved kitchen that was so out of date. I’m certain that’s why this house was on the market for almost a year before we scooped it up! You can see the complete renovation here. BTW, we designed and contracted the kitchen remodel ourselves. You can do this! My kitchen remodel:How about this powder blue beauty from Bigger Thank the Three Of Us? This small and dark kitchen is bright and shiny with a new faux backsplash from A Turtle’s Life For Me.This dungeon got a fresh look with some great ideas you can steal from Artsy Chicks Rule.Design Dazzle took her kitchen from totally 80’s to totally amazing here. This kitchen from Re-Fabbed is SO MUCH fun, you can’t even tell it’s the same space!Y’all. I can’t even. This kitchen remodel is crazy good from AKA Design.Small Home Soul decluttered like crazy and you have to see the ceiling transformation.Pneumatic Addict made this small kitchen a stunning showpiece.Painting cabinets can do wonders and the one little addition above the stove makes all the difference in this kitchen from My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia. This kitchen goes from ho hum to farmhouse fabulous with a makeover by The Honeycomb Home.I love the countertops Lemon Thistle choose for her kitchen remodel and it is super budget friendly! This kitchen got a streamlined feel plus an awesome sink from Weekend Craft.OK, so this kitchen doesn’t look bad to start, but it looks SO lovely when Chatfield Court is finished with it! If these kitchen makeovers don’t give you hope for your out of date, dark kitchen, I don’t know what will! So often all we see are the bright shiny staged after pictures, it makes me feel good to know that’s not always what these spaces looked like (and it’s not what they look like on a day to day basis!) Hope you gathered a ton of inspiration! Let me know which makeover you thought was the best!

Money being tight, our ugly wallpapered kitchen simply got a new paint job and it simply transformed it from 80’s horror to a much better farmhouse look….. now if only I could pare down enough to keep everything neat! Slowly, slowly…..

At the time we remodeled the 1995 kitchen in the big house, (It was a horrible kitchen when we bought the house and it was brand new at the time). I was sure we would live there forever, so I designed a left handed kitchen since both my hubby and I are lefties. When we moved to a smaller home this year, I noticed that most of the cabinet doors open for right handed people. This smaller house is really a gift from God.

that’s so interesting, I never thought it was different for lefties, my husband is a lefty and has never said a word! Downsizing is so often a blessing, glad you found your spot!

Your kitchen decoration are too much good. I have a question. How you clean your wood cutting board?
Kim at Hunt and Host says
thanks, I am about to do a whole post on taking care of cutting boards, I hope you will stay tuned for it. Basic tip is to use a wood conditioner to keep them nice!
