Think about the most common touch points of your home. Doors. It’s the doors. You see them when you walk into any room, you open them, close them, slam them, quietly shut them, hang things on them and use them every single day. But I bet you don’t think about them much.

They are a sleepy little part of your home that hold massive impact potential! Updating your interior doors tends to be the kind of project that people really notice, without noticing. Homes with great doors just feel different, more personal, finished and creative – all without saying much.

I did two things to update the interior doors in my home. One was the most impactful and is something anyone can do. The other take a little more elbow grease, but the payoff is big. Update Your Interior Door Hardware

This is single handedly the most impactful update you can do to your interior doors. If you’ve lived in your space for a while, your door hardware is likely outdated. If it is like mine, it’s also pretty beat up and tired.

I picked new door hardware and I am IN LOVE! I chose Ageless Iron hardware because I loved the timeless style and let me tell you – this stuff is heavy duty! It feel so amazing in your hand, it just feels high quality, because it is. I liked the fact that Ageless Iron had a variety of styles that all would be a perfect classic fit for my home. Paint Your Interior Doors

The second interior door update I worked on was painting the doors. Now, I only painted a few, but you can paint them all for an all over impact. I went for more pinpoint change.

The front door is a solid wood door and while I could have re-stained it. I opted to paint it instead. I am so please with the cohesiveness it brings to the space. I think the Ageless Iron hardware looks gorgeous on the freshly painted door. I used Tynewood by Sherwin Williams for my interior door paint color choice. Before above, after below…

I also repainted the pantry door, mainly because the blue color it came to me wasn’t something I loved, but a pantry door is a fun place to add a pop of personality. If you aren’t looking to paint all your doors, consider exterior doors, powder room doors, closet doors and pantry doors as good places to do a one off color.

This simple update changes the feel of the entire kitchen and I absolutely love it! It just looks rich and intentional.
