I learned the best way to clean your flat top stove – by trial and error! And lots of it! But this quick and easy stove top cleaning trick is tried and true in my house and I thought someone out there could use the tip!
No matter what stove you have, you can probably relate to the constant cleaning battle. I swear, the kitchen is one of those places- no matter how much you clean, it always needs more. I guess this is one of those moments though, we should be thankful, right!? Thankful we have food to make the kitchen dirty, thankful we have a kitchen to get dirty, and a family to fill it. Perspective sure changes everything my friend. Plus, with this little nugget of cleaning info I’m about to give you, the cleaning will be easy peasy. Let’s get into it.

- comet
- water
how to clean your flat top stove
I usually do a general wipe down with windex to swipe away the surface-level grime, but it’s optional! Now for the big tip: sprinkle some comet and water onto your stove top and rub it in. It’ll turn into a sort of paste. If you have a lot of yuck, you may want to let it sit for a bit. I have even used a flat razor if it was really bad, to scrape off some of the gunk. Once it’s all loosened up, just wipe it all away and there you have it.
It’s seriously the easiest way I’ve found to keep the stove top clean, and I do it about once a week or so!
Now that you have this tip in your arsenal, cleaning your flat top stove is going to be a breeze! And next time, instead of saying “I have to clean the stove again” change it up to “I’m glad I have a stove top that I GET to clean,” because the truth is- not everyone does.

After you clean it, it’s great to spray with pure vinegar and wipe it with paper towels. Puts a shine back on it.
