how to give wooden dollar store decor an easy update
- Paint the dollar store decor with a base color. This base color will be the MAIN color of your decor transformation, so keep that in mind.
- Add some depth and dimension by going in with a chip brush and adding spots of new color here and there. You can even create designs like the one you see on my DIY snowflake!
- Sprinkle baking soda all over the piece and let sit for a couple minutes. Ensure the entire piece is covered- you can sort of smear it around and spread it to achieve that, it doesn’t need to be a thick layer.
- Use your chip brush to dust off the excess baking soda.
…And that’s IT! It’s such an easy way to transform dollar store decor into warm, cozy, rustic decor you’ll adore for years to come!!
