Hey, the early 2000’s called and said it’s time to give your outdated decor an update!
We all have it… those pieces that were once “on trend” and “in style,” but now sit at the back of a crowded closet or storage cabinet, collecting dust. While I can’t answer why we all have that same tendency to hold onto decor pieces we don’t like anymore, I can tell you it’s about to be good news you did!!! Go dig in your closet for past treasures and get ready… because I’m about to show you how easy it is to give that outdated decor an update!
And like many projects before, spray paint is going to be our hero today! There’s almost NOTHING a little paint can’t fix or transform… and especially when it comes to Rust-Oleum spray paints! I want to give a quick thank you to Rust-Oleum for sponsoring this project, all ideas and opinions are my own!
If you know me, you know I tend to lean into neutrals with some greens mixed in for my everyday decor. Having a go-to color palette is the key to a cohesive home, and makes your life easier when it comes decor shopping time. BUT (and there’s a big but here), I think there IS a time and place to step outside your comfort zone, your safety color palette, and get a little wild. At the end of the day, it’s YOUR house, and nothing brings a smile to my face better than a sweet refresh and a POP of color!
With that said, I went with Rust-Oleum’s Color of the Year, Gloss Grape, for this project! To keep it cohesive, and push myself even further out of my comfort zone, I checked out all of the Rust-Oleum Color Watch 2023 colors (which are bold and bright and I’m here for it, click here to check them out), and chose none other than Gloss Berry Pink and Gloss Hunter Green. The green to help it tie back into my current home decor, of course. I know, I know… I’m so brave. But pick your jaw up off of the ground and see how seriously beautiful these colors can be!
Two birds one stone refers to completing two tasks in one motion, or at the same time– and if this isn’t the perfect example of that, I don’t know what is! First, I have a BEAUTIFUL pop of color for spring and summer to add to my home for years to come. Second, I brought new life to old, forgotten about decor…and that feels nothing short of spectacular! You truly can’t beat a good upcycle!
If you tend to steer clear of bold colors, it’s time to change your ways my friend, and live on the wild side. Trust me, I was you… but my world feels a little brighter with gloss grape in my life.
