I have always loved nature. Any chance I get to bring it inside, I do… acorns, feathers, sticks, leaves, you name it. But I LOVE collecting feathers the most. My husband and I take walks and look for feathers- it’s kind of our thing. One time I even found a feather on a sidewalk in the city while walking to a concert… that was an unexpected find!! Nonetheless, it’s become a fun little game for us.. and I’m not complaining because then I have beautiful feathers to decorate with, on top of a fun little game with the hubby. This foraged free fall decor idea holds a special place in my heart, and I want to share it with you. I think you might love it too!
Literally, you only need 3 things for this little DIY! A log or piece of wood, a drill, and feathers! I used an old log from our pile out front- we live in Texas so it’s not likely firewood is going to be in high demand for us. Of course, you can alter and tweak this idea to fit your style as needed! All I did was drill random holes into my log scrap to start. There’s no rhyme or reason to this, so just go for it. The drill did get kind of stuck sometimes on the way out, but if you’re patient with it, it’ll work out.
After your wood is ready, find your new spot for this beauty and then add your feathers!!
This is one of the easiest, cheapest, most beautiful DIYs ever. Bringing nature in is one of my little secrets to a cozy space, and it doesn’t even cost a dime! Foraged free fall decor for the win!
Now get to collecting….
