I thought it’d be fun to play around with some fall decorating ideas with you guys! The side table in my bedroom is the perfect spot to exercise my decorating muscle and shift things a bit to come up with some decor variations.
I made some subtle shifts in the decor and just played around to show some different ways you can use the same things to create different looks. Here are my tips for creating a fresh new vignette for fall.
- I think it’s best to take EVERYTHING off the site you are looking to re-arrange and start with a fresh, clean slate.
- Gather a bunch of things you love that go with the vibe you are looking for. Dig through your closets, cabinets and storage. You can also shop the look I have going on in my online store, Salvaged Living Mercantile – some of the items I use are carried in the store!
- Start with your large, focal point kind of items and build around them.
- Remember to vary all the things! Height, texture, materials and size. A vginette can be all the same color and still be interesting if you eye has a path to travel on, you wanted height variations. Different materials and textures add interest, think metal, fabric, glass, rattan, florals, nature, 3-D pieces, typography, wood and paper.
- Play – Try moving things around, layer them different, mix and match. It’s your home, do what you like, experiment and have fun with it.
- Edit. I might be guilty of over decorating sometimes. It’s best to take a step back, look at the vignette as a whole and then edit out anything that feels overdone. These are hard words for me to say, but sometimes you cna have too much. 🤣🤣🤣
Bringing some fall vibes to the bedroom has been a fun little decorating adventure. I am hopeful you got some good ideas and tips you can use to bring the fall festivies to your neck of the woods!
