Black and White Dollhouse Master Bathroom Reveal
I am almost to the end of my childhood dollhouse makeover and each room has me stretching my miniature skills and decor ideas more and more. It is SO FUN! Thanks to HBS Miniatures for sponsoring this makeover, they have been so amazing to work with. Great selections, speedy shipping and kind employees. When searching through the bathroom fixture choices I was feeling some major heart palpitations over this sink. I am sure it was meant for a kitchen but it is dreamy in this bathroom. It was my jump off point for the bathroom decor.
The floor was the same fat craft stick wood floor as the master bedroom, but after painting it white I checker-boarded it using some Frog Tape. Frog Tape gives really crisp lines for this type of application. I need to go back with a high gloss sealer so it looks a little more polished, but I was out and haven’t had a chance to get more! We’ve been so busy with the move and life.
The walls got painted black for a nice dramatic contrast and I added in the crown moulding and base board that matched the rest of the house. The trim really finishes off a room! For the walls I ordered a sheet of white “tile”, it’s plastic and easy to cut with scissors and glue to the wall.
I ended up ordering a bathroom set of fixtures and swapping out the sink that came in the set with the extra large farmhouse one. I painted the little mirror that came in the set with gold and used some dark wax and mica dust to age it a bit.
I’d love to have a claw foot tub someday, but so far it hasn’t worked in any house we’ve had so I am once again living vicariously through the dollhouse! I did make a bath tray like I have in my bathroom now though and topped off with some DIY books made from cut up sheet music and cardboard.
All the towels are bits of a white washcloth cut up. You can get a linen closet full out of one washcloth! The bath towel shelf is two old nightstands glued one on top of the other with the drawers removed. I painted the outside black and left the stained wood on the inside to match the toilet seat and wall art.
For the walls I wanted something simple with a touch of color. I used the drawers I took out of the nightstands for a vintage feeling wall art. I had some leftover dollar store grass from this project and a few snips made for perfect greenery. Who knew that awful dollar store grass would come in so handy?
Next I need to finish the hallway and paint the outside and this dollhouse makeover will be in the books! I’m hoping to have it complete before we move but time is really slipping fast, so we shall see! Let me know if you are working on a dollhouse, I love to see the pictures you guys send, there are some really awesome ideas out there! Happy homemaking friends. I’d sure love it if you’d share this makeover on Pinterest!

I also have a dollhouse. My husband put it together for me and throughout the years my son’s pick up different items for the inside of the house. It has working lights and now my grandkids are fascinated by it. It has been in our family for quite a while when I think about it. My question is how do you keep the dust out of it I love having it on display but I wined keeping it covered to keep it protected from the Dust. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear from you. I enjoy all your post and have been following your blog for several months now so it’s a real treasure to find out that you also have a mini house. One tip I can share about the Furnishings inside the house I have painted couches that I did not like the fabric instead of reupholstering them. Good luck with your move and all that follows .

First off Judy, thank you so much for following along, I am thrilled you are here! You house sounds like it is full of memories!!! I don’t have a good solution for you besides dusting it occasionally. I have mine up on a piece of furniture and it doesn’t seem to get to dirty, I think placement in your house is helpful. I am sure yours is to beautiful to hide away. A little dust won’t hurt anything, get that baby out in the open!!! I painted a chair in the living room of the dollhouse instead of upholstering, it looks pretty cute too!

Love it! It seems like this is a great project to push your creativity. I’ve got a dollhouse that needs to be assembled in the garage. Had it for years. You’re inspiring me!

The claw-foot tub is my favorite. What a clever idea to miniaturize your book tray!
BTW, I love your monthly Scripture printable. April’s is special. Love the sheep. I reduced it, printed on a creamy construction paper and displayed it on a small clipboard on a 3-tired server on my kitchen island.

Thank you Beth and it completely makes my day to hear that you love and use the printables!!!
