This frame makeover is perfect for a dollar store Christmas sign! There is nothing better than mixing old and new for some well loved looking decor, especially when you want it to be budget friendly for the holidays!
I found these two old frames at a garage sale for TEN CENTS each!!! You know I had to scoop! You can find great frames to work with at the dollar store, or you probably have some you don’t use any more so grab those.
This wooden sign came from Dollar Tree. Friend – the trick to getting great stuff at the dollar store is to go often and buy things that look cute to you the second you see them. I promise if you you wait they will be gone. I wasn’t sure how I was going to use this sign when I bought it, but I knew it would be cute.
I simply painted the sign and the picture frame with black chalk paint.
While that was drying I cut a piece of scrap fabric and used Mod Podge to adhere it to the picture that was in the frame. If your fabric is thin you may want to paint over the picture first so you don’t see it through the fabric.
I used chalk to highlight the edges of the sign and outline the deer head then glued it on the fabric. Viola a precious sign for next to nothing! Don’t you just love a good dollar tree craft? I sure do, they make me smile! There is nothing better than a fun little dollar tree Christmas decoration. Happy crafting. If you want to see some other dollar store crafts I’ve done, click here!
