Girl. Have you priced cake stands lately? Well, I have and they are not in my budget. But this DIY rustic cake stand totally is and it can be in yours too!!! A couple of dollar store supplies whipped up and you’ve got yourself the basis for some precious decor!
Please watch the video for this easy DIY project that is sure to save you some money! Decorative pedestals and cake stands are so useful in decorating, it always is good to have height variation and lovely texture. For this DIY cake stand I used the following supplies:
DIY Rustic Cake Stand Supplies
4X4 wood post, cut to desired height
White Plate from the Dollar Tree
Wire
Glue Gun
I worked this new cake stand into a cozy fall vignette and thought you’d enjoy seeing some simple items come together.
I bought the giant pedestal during my recent trip to Round Top Antiques Week, it is a reproduction item that I have been eyeing for a while. I do splurge on pieces like this occasionally when I know I will use them repeatedly in my home. The rest of the time I thrift or DIY. I always find a balance of the two kinds of items makes for a home I love and don’t feel guilty about from a spending standpoint.
This is a cozy fall vignette on my kitchen island. I love to have some sort of focal point here. Usually I have a sweet treat for my kids, but right now it’s a sweet decor treat for me. 🙂 I love to layer in brass candlesticks and brown glass.
Feathers and cotton.
Brown transferware – my heart!!!!
and of course the new rustic cake stand that looks charming but doesn’t steal the show! Can’t beat that for a few bucks!
