Go big or go home with this DIY giant paper leaf garland for your fall mantel! I had such a blast creating these giant paper leaves and you will too! I can’t wait to show you guys how this mantel look came together.
I’ve seen lots of leaf garland on the internet and Instagram, but I just can’t bring myself to pay the price tag for it! Does anyone else out there feel the same way? I think in decorating there are a few factors at play – money, time, and style. It’s rare to get decor that meets all your needs, sometimes you forgo money and buy something because you don’t have time or ability to make it yourself, other times you can create your own items and save money bit spend time. This was a relatively quick DIY garland and DEFINITELY was on target from a budget standpoint. You can watch the full video tutorial for BOTH garlands you see here, plus the cute bows on You Tube. Enjoy the pictures in this post for styling ideas.
Like most decorating situations in my home I have a hearty mix of thrifted, created, and new. For me, this mix is homey, affordable and fits my style. Hope you like it too! You can see in the video how I put the scene together!
This fall mantel was an easy transition from my Halloween mantel, I re-used the white pumpkins and just switched up the stuff around them! A great thrifted/antique mirror is always a good thing to have in your decorating stash. It adds a great backdrop to any season, plus a tough of brightness.
Next I weaved the two garlands across the mantel. (By the way – if you have a stone mantel, this might be a good DIY for you. I got tired of trying to decorate a stone mantel!)
Books are a staple decor piece for me and somehow snuggling up by the fire with a good book seems like a dreamy fall scene to me. I wish I had more time for that dream, but I digress… 🤣🤣🤣 I got this gorgeous book holder at a garage sale for $1. It’s amazing. (I have some vintage book buying tips for you here!)
Pampas grass is always good for a little drama and fills a fall space so nicely. Mine was free because I picked it straight from nature, but you can find it on Etsy and Amazon if you don’t have access to any.
These layers all add up to a cozy fall vibe that I completely dig! I’d love to see your fall mantel! Text me a picture – 214-206-3675 and join the text list so we can chat! Don’t forget to check out the video tutorial on how to make THREE Garlands plus the Rag bow you see here!
