Hi friends! Welcome to fall. I know it’s not official yet, but I wanted to be the first to welcome you in! Fall is my very favorite time of year. The entire essence of the season speaks my language. Snuggly, cozy, cuddle up with a good book and your favorite people while sipping hot chocolate by a dreamy fire has to sound good to you too..am I right? I wanted to bring that cozy feel to life through a farmhouse books and pages inspired fall theme. Really it’s all about friendship.
Fall brings out festivals and pumpkin patches, footballs and bonfires. All the fun events you do in community, with friends.
Fall also brings the famous Round Top Antiques Week fields to life. My friend and I have made a special road trip, just the two of us each spring and fall for close to ten years. We roam the aisles and talk and dream. We act like we are going to branch out and try new things, but we eat the same sandwich and visit the same booths every time!
Shopping in an unhurried stride, telling stories. Treasure hunting.
Sharing your life with a friend is one of the greatest treasures I can think of. My friend and I are open books, sharing life freely with one another. Often while recapping the events of our day the conversation ends with us saying, “you can’t make that stuff up!” Our lives are more entertaining, drama filled and unbelievable than any book that could be written!
As I decorated this Fall her friendship was on the forefront of my heart. In this season of thanksgiving I am thankful for a friendship that accepts the story of me, the good and the bad. And I am joyful that she shares her story with me, unedited.
As women are prone to do we often conspire to solve the world’s problems and each others. We ponder and predict the outcome of the twists and turns life throws at us. Inevitably we always say, “I wish I could peek at the last page.” Sometimes we just want to know how the story ends.
We don’t need to be book “cheaters”, reading the last chapter first, because we know deep in our hearts the end is good. God wins and that’s enough. But man, I sure am glad to have her along for the unpredictable journey of life.
So this fall filled with decorations from books and pages is dedicated to friendships. The shared tales and chapters of life. Ours, yours, the old and the new. Because there is nothing better than a good story shared over coffee on a blustery fall morning. But most of all to my friend, who is…my favorite book to read.

What fun creative touches to your home. Thank you for sharing. I too decorated by dinning room hutch with books this year, rather than dishes! I have a “red book” collection of vintage books. Love the tie you made between books and friendships…..”“Friendship is God’s special way of loving us through someone else.” Have a blessed day!
