Yes! You can get gorgeous Boho table setting accessories from the Dollar Store, here are the finds I used to do some Dollar Store decorating for Fall! Dollar Store DIY is back! My friends are showing you how to DIY on the cheap…because it really is possible! Today I’m not sharing a DIY project really, I didn’t have to “make” anything, it was already great straight out of the Dollar Store! woot woot!
Fall is all over social media and stores, but down in Texas the temperature is not following suit. At all.
We don’t even start getting pumpkins for another month or two! While I wanted to usher in the fall/back to school season with pumpkin spice everything I decide to tone it down a bit and gradually roll into the season. I have been thinking of this laid back boho table setting for a while now, I found these place mats at the Dollar Store this summer and knew they would be perfect for fall. That is one of my biggest tips when shopping whether it be a dollar store or thrift shop, look for things out of season. The placemats were actually labeled as little rugs, but that would have to be a pretty small space, lol! That is tip number two…don’t look to use things in the manner they are intended. It’s way more fun to buy six of these as placemats than one for a small bathroom! My kids were ready for a change from our summer tablescape, maybe they didn’t want to be reminded nightly that the free reign schedule of summer had come to a close. I can’t blame them. My daughter helped me set the table with the new boho placemats and my favorite gold flatware. I also got these glass plates FROM THE DOLLAR STORE! Mind you, when I say dollar store I literally mean each one coast $1. We don’t eat off of them, but rather use them as chargers, because honestly for a dollar they may be full of lead from China. Who knows, but they look cute and work well.I realize the skull may not suit everyone’s taste, but around our house it sits as a promise of fun times to come later in the fall season. We have a deer lease we go to every chance we get and my family LOVES it. This is actually a goat skull from our lease, the land owners raise goats and unfortunately some fall prey to Mother Nature and we find the skulls laying around. No animal was actually harmed by us in this décor and it was free. 🙂 When pumpkins show up I may even change out the skull for pumpkins.
I layered the center of our table with various candlesticks I have collected from garage sales and thrift stores, usually paying $1 or less for each. The pretty spiral candles were two for $1 at the dollar store. Anytime we have candles on the table my kids are happy. They love to blow them out, over and over and over! The little vases are tobacco jars and I absolutely love to pull them out and fill them with clippings from the yard whenever I get the chance. I did splurge on a couple of bunches of Baby’s Breathe for the table and some other spots in our house. You will have to check back in a few weeks when I have the complete fall home tour up and show you where all the baby’s breath is! I kind of went Boho everywhere. The little succulent…you guessed it! Another dollar store find.
As a final nod to fall and all things Boho I added some Pheasant feathers because I am on a Pheasant feather kick currently. I think they are just so stunning! Honestly, I hesitate to call this Boho table setting “fall” because I think you could enjoy it all year long. So see, you really can decorate from the dollar store and do it in style! I hope you’ll take a minute to visit my friends and see their DIY Dollar Store ideas for fall as well. Thanks for stopping by!

I love the skull too, but I am sure it’s a love or hate for most. The feathers have found their way all over my house lol!

Hi Kim,
I am somewhat of a newbie to internet marketing and blogging. So with that being said, I am very glad that I found this blog post. I plan to stay connected to your blog. Can’t wait to see what you’re going to write next. Thanks.

Just gorgeous, Kim!! I can’t believe they were selling “small rugs” for a buck!! I need to go and look for glass plates to use as chargers, too! Thanks for participating and happy Fall! 😉

Your tablesetting is so pretty, Kim. I love the deep tones and those placemats (I WANT!). I’ve never seen anything that pretty at my dollar store.

How did you clean the skull? My kids love bringing bones and skulls home but most I’ve left outside because they’re nasty. Also, beautiful tablescape
