If you have followed Hunt & Host at all you have heard me profess my love of curbside shopping. I mean I REALLY love it. When I drive around it's like following the Easter Bunny on Easter morning. I just find little treasures hidden in piles on people's curbs. I feel the same way as back when I hunted those Easter eggs. Giddy with excitement, I can't wait to see what will be left out for me every day. If you haven't shopped curbside it can be daunting, intimidating and possibly feel ... continue reading...

Time Change
I'm not sure where this clock came from. My friend Stacie had it at her house and donated it to the office remodel we worked on this past week. I have actually seen another just like it in a thrift store since she gave it to me. It was her idea to paint it, and a good one at that! I am not sure I would have even given it a second thought. Paint is a miracle worker though. The cool part is you really can paint just about anything. I have to remember that when I am out junking. If something ... continue reading...
Where We Hunt: Thrift Shops & Resale Stores
It is as much fun to hunt out new thrift stores and resale shops as it is to hunt the stores themselves. Almost every town has one or two, even itty bitty towns. That means the possibilities are endless on what you may wander across. Here are my top 5 tips on how to thrift shop to the max. 1. Keys To ME
When I shared about junkin in Small Town USA I mentioned local hardware stores. Often the hardware store is a combo job...hardware/feedstore/auto parts, etc. Our deer lease is close to Junction, Texas which is a precious little blink of a town. They have a combo store I'm quite found of. I found this nifty little key chain there. Well, it wasn't really a key chain, but some sort of horse tackle gear or something. It was hanging out in a section of items I know nothing about. But it spoke to me. ... continue reading...
Where We Hunt: Small Town U.S.A.
So glad you joined us for week 4 of our 10 part series Where We Hunt. Today we visit small town USA... Do you road trip much? Do you often drive to your family vacation destination? grandparents? weekend getaways? Any direction you head the open road is riddled with small towns. They are full of charm, each with their own, unique personality. These towns are my very favorite places to hunt for treasures. You never know what you will find and the prices are usually phenomenal. The small, less ... continue reading...
That’s a Wrap
We have a fireplace in our bedroom. Ooh lala. Really it is ugh lala. It is one of those spots in my house that has kind of collected all the leftover unloved items. We have never lit a fire in the fireplace, we might need to work on that. The bedroom is under decorating construction currently. That just means I am moving stuff around to make it a happy space instead of a sad last kid picked for the team kind of place. I have a great pair of candlesticks. Symmetry is really awesome ... continue reading...
