I can’t even tell you how stinkin’ cute this Advent calendar is and I have a bunch of ideas on how you can use it to brighten your holiday season. You will want to grab this printable Advent calendar like yesterday and get to work. It’s a super simple and inexpensive way to focus on Christ this Christmas!
First of all you can buy the Advent printable here, so go do that first!
Three Ways To Use An Advent Banner
- Advent Calendar in a Jar Gift Idea – I am totally doing this. Want to give a thoughtful gift to teachers, neighbors and friends this year? Package up a little Advent calendar in a jar for the sweetest gift ever. You will want to print and cut out the printable Advent banner pieces. Add some cute ribbon, jute twine, faux greenery and small clothespins to the jar and tie it off with a matching ribbon. They have all they need to create a special Advent space in their home or office. You can show your friend how to decorate with this Advent banner by sharing this picture with them for a fun idea, which leads us to idea number 2…
- Decorate and old frame or replicate this on a mantel. Wrap jute twine around a vintage frame and secure to the back of the frame. Using small clothespins clip the Advent banner pieces to the jute twine. Decorate with layered bows, snips of ribbon, faux or fresh greenery, ornaments, berries or paper sacks for tiny Advent gifts. Each day flip the banner card and reveal a Bible verse relevant to Advent and discuss it with your family.
- Use the cards as memory verse cards. The Bible verse on each cards is meant to encourage reflection on the true meaning of Christmas and will spur you on to take a deeper look into the Christmas story, the meaning and the details of Christ’s birth and family tree. Use a hole punch to punch a hole in the corner of each card and string them on a ring clip or tie up with ribbon, every day read through the scriptures to set your eyes on Jesus this Christmas.

Absolutely perfect! Only yesterday I bought a huge mirror to hang on the wall to decorate for Christmas. Wasn’t entirely sure what I was going to do but a general idea was there. Now I know exactly what I’m doing. Even my husband will love this. Thank you for showing how to put more God into my Christmas. Plus I’m going to assemble for my daughter for her house too! Love it!
