This verse. Go read the surrounding story. It is about turmoil and opposition and standing for what is right, even when it is hard. Spoiler alert, when you get to 2 Chronicles 15:15 it says, “All Judah rejoiced about the oath because they had sworn it wholeheartedly. They sought God eagerly, and he was found by them. So the LORD gave them rest on every side.”
Rest on every side. Because they persevered when it was tough. They sought the Lord alone. And their reward was peace. We may never see our reward this side of Heaven, but we can commit to not giving up and giving in when the going gets tough, because the peace WILL come!
