Hi friend – my name is Kim and I’m not sure I can really express how happy I am you’re here. I don’t believe in coincidence and so by that one fact I know you stumbled on this blog for a reason! I bet we are kindred spirits, creative twins and soul sisters separated by geography alone. See if any of these little tidbits ring true to you. I’d love you to shoot me an e-mail or message or TEXT ME and let me know. Here’s a little about me…
I love to find treasures – out junkin’, in making memories with my family, on the curb, in a cup of coffee with a friend, anywhere unexpected and especially in God’s word.
Free is one of my favorite words. The best things in life always are.
The smell of sawdust, vanilla, fresh cut grass, lavender and babies make me happy. Not necessarily all together.
Parts of me are literally made of steel, but the rest of me is just a big cushy pile of mush.
I could eat pizza for every meal.
For real.
Almost all animals make my heart melt, except Llamas (due to an unfortunate spitting incident). We’ve had TONS of pets over the years.
I change my hair cut and color more than the average girl and I’m convinced that make up and shoes are always a good purchase.
My mail is delivered to Blanco, Texas, but I call home any place my husband and three little people are. They are the best.
God gave me a creative mind and a passionate heart. This blog is for your inspiration to see His glory in everything. To embrace the gifts He gave YOU. To seek Him in the details of your world. I believe a good DIY project is the perfect place to get your hands dirty and your heart clean. I look forward to walking with you, talking with you and inspiring each other as we journey through our days.
This blog started out being called Hunt & Host and I recently felt lead to change it to Salvaged Living – DIY projects for a life and home redeemed. My redemption is the greatest gift ever given to me and I see salvation everywhere, this name just points a little stronger to the meaning behind it all.
I went through an unwanted divorce a few years back and God so graciously and tenderly held my hand. Turns out, this little blog that I thought was just a creative outlet and some extra income, was actually a provisional gift from God. Basically, God set the stage for Salvaged Living to provide an income, stability and support that I never knew was waiting for me. I didn’t even know I would need it, but He did! I love how He is always working behind the scene in a way we have no idea, preparing paths we can not see.
I’m happy to say, a few years later, my sweet kiddos are thriving and so I am! Recently remarried and in a brand new city, life is full. Most days I can hardly believe the beauty in my life.
Besides the unexpected gift of provision, this little blog has brought some fun opportunities my way! I’ve had the amazing pleasure of having our home on the Flea Market Decor COVER and a 16 page feature June/July 2018 issue, Upcycled Style home feature, ReLoved Magazine home feature, Country Sampler Farmhouse Style, Country Sampler Christmas Decorating, Life:Beautiful blogger to watch, The New Pioneer Magazine, Hometalk, Apartment Therapy, Huffington Post, Crosswalk.com, iBelieve.com, Remodelaholic as well as many other home decor and DIY blog features. I have also written a monthly column in a local paper, The Eagle, and appeared monthly on a local magazine program, Brazos Valley Magazine.
I’ve also been able to partner with many national brands such as JOANN, Kirkland’s, World Market, Wagner Paint Sprayers, 99 Cent Only Store, Crate & Pallets, Miniatures.com, Tylenol, Hickory Hardware, Modern Masters, Frogtape, DAP and more. Who knew a creative outlet could turn into a full time income! God is so amazing. I tell you all this in hopes to kindle the creative fire lurking in your heart. If I can do it you surely can too!
Blessings and enjoy!

My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
